Personal Trainers in Tamworth

Tamworth has an open-air fitness circuit beside the regional playground, a steep climb in East Tamworth and a synthetic athletics track. We pass your request to one local trainer who can use them with you.

What to know about Tamworth

Thirteen stations on Kable Avenue

The Tamworth Regional Playground at 89 Kable Avenue is always open and free to enter, and alongside the play equipment it has an outdoor fitness circuit of 13 stations for a full body workout. A trainer can run you through the circuit, then add the movements it does not cover.

Hills in East Tamworth

For legs and lungs, Victoria Park in East Tamworth is the place. The council says the Kamilaroi Walking Track takes about two hours return, and the main track to the top of Flagstaff Mountain is 5 kilometres return at a moderate gradient with some steep sections (Tamworth Regional Council). Start slowly if hills are new to you. Across the region there are also 50.2km of cycleways and shared paths for flatter sessions.

A synthetic track for runners

Opened in 2019, the Tamworth Regional Athletics Centre has an eight-lane 400m track. Individuals can get on it with a day pass, a six-month pass or an annual pass bought from the Sports Dome. If you are training for a fun run or just want to measure your progress, a marked lap helps.

Booking a council venue for a session

The council's terms for sports and recreation venue hire say booking requests for personal and fitness training must go in at least four days before the session. Some open spaces, such as Viaduct Park, list exercise and fitness classes among their uses. When rain hits, the council posts the status of its fields and facilities on the My TRC App (sporting facilities), so a wet morning may mean a change of plan. Sessions at your home are the fallback.
