Who runs AimFit?
AimFit is an independent website that passes enquiries to local personal trainers. It is not owned by a gym, a studio or a trainer. The enquiry page names the company that operates it.
Which trainer gets my enquiry?
One trainer who takes AimFit enquiries for your area receives it, along with the kind of training you chose and any notes. Trainers may pay to receive the enquiries for their area.
Are the trainers checked by AimFit?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We are a referral service, not a regulator. Ask the trainer about their qualification, any council permit and their terms, and decide for yourself.
Training with a personal trainer
What should I wear to a first session?
Comfortable clothes you can move in, supportive shoes and a layer you can take off. Bring water and, for an outdoor session, a hat and sunscreen.
How many sessions should I book?
Start small. A few sessions are enough to tell whether you and the trainer work well together. Commit to a longer package once you are sure.
I have not exercised in years. Is that a problem?
Not for a trainer. Starting from scratch is common. If you have a health condition, see your GP first, then tell the trainer how active you are now.
Is it normal for trainers to sell packages?
Yes, many do. Read the terms before you pay, especially on how long the sessions remain valid and what happens if you need to stop.
Why does my trainer need a council permit for the park?
Many councils class paid fitness training on public land as a business activity that needs approval. See outdoor training for examples from around the country.

Why don't you ask about my health?
Because a referral service has no need to know it. Health information is sensitive, so we leave that conversation to you, your doctor and your trainer.
Will I be added to a mailing list?
Only if you tick the box for training tips on the form. It is unticked to begin with, and you can unsubscribe whenever you like.
