Four outdoor fitness hubs
The council lists outdoor fitness hubs at Boreham Park, Riverside Parklands and Lake Ellen Heritage Hub Park in Bundaberg, plus Schuhkraft Walk Park in Bargara. If you live near one, it gives a trainer a fixed spot to meet you, and gives you somewhere to go back to on your own between sessions.
Ask your trainer which hub suits your mornings or evenings, and see outdoor training for how sessions in public spaces usually run.
Be Active Be Alive
Be Active Be Alive was initiated by Bundaberg Regional Council in 2012. The council invites fitness instructors to deliver its classes in pools, parks and other venues across the region, and runs the program on set dates. Check the council page for the next one.
Those classes are run with the council. If you want a plan built around you alone, that is where a personal trainer fits in.
Keeping active past 65
At the 2021 Census the Bundaberg urban area counted 73,747 residents. Their median age was 45. By our count about 25.8% were 65 or over, roughly one resident in four. Plenty of people start training later in life, and one-on-one sessions let the pace be yours from the first day.
If walking with a friend is more your style, a trainer can work with two or three of you together at one of the hubs. Partner and small group training explains the options.
Ask how complaints are handled
Queensland Government guidance on operating as a fitness provider sets two plain expectations: a fitness supplier needs a way of handling complaints, and false or misleading claims are not allowed. Before you book, ask a trainer how they would deal with a problem if one came up.
Ready to start? The request form asks a few short questions about how and when you like to train, and how it works explains what happens next.
