Personal Trainers in Glenelg

Glenelg's residents are older than in most suburbs, and the City of Holdfast Bay runs a permit system for trainers on its community land. When you are ready, tell us about yourself and we will pass the enquiry to one personal trainer by the coast.

What to know about Glenelg

An older seaside suburb

Glenelg had 3,440 residents at the 2021 Census, and its median age was 55. 46.5% of households were lone-person households, compared with 28.5% across South Australia. For people aged 65 and over, the 24-hour movement guidelines recommend 30 minutes or more of moderate- to vigorous-intensity activity on most days, with muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week. If you have a health condition, have a word with your doctor before you start.

Holdfast Bay's permit system

In the City of Holdfast Bay, a personal trainer or group fitness instructor must apply for a Personal Training Permit to use community land. Under the council's permit policy, permits go only to parks and reserves judged suitable, and each one names the reserve, the days used and the number of participants. If you picture a session on the sand, ask the trainer whether their permit covers that spot.

Paths along the coast

Coast Park follows the coastline for 9 kilometres from Glenelg North to Kingston Park, on a level, wide path suited to walking, running and cycling. The Mike Turtur Bikeway is a 9.5 kilometre shared path that links the Adelaide CBD to Glenelg beside the tram line.

Our part is small but useful. As a referral service, AimFit passes your enquiry to one trainer near the bay. See also Brighton, also in Holdfast Bay, or make an enquiry.
