Personal Trainers in Doncaster

Doncaster is older than most of Melbourne and more than half its residents were born overseas, so trainers here work with retirees, families and parents of young children in roughly equal measure. Tell us where you are starting from and we will pass your enquiry to one personal trainer who covers Doncaster.

What to know about Doncaster

An older, multilingual suburb

Doncaster had 25,020 residents at the 2021 Census and a median age of 40. By our sum of the age rows, 22.0% were 65 or over, well above the Victorian share of 16.8%, and only 42.1% were born in Australia. Trainers here are used to working across languages and generations, and to clients whose first goal is to stay strong, mobile and independent rather than to run faster. For older adults the 24-hour movement guidelines recommend 30 minutes or more of moderate- to vigorous-intensity activity on most days, with muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week; see your doctor first if you have a health condition.

Permits on council land

Manningham Council requires a permit for anyone providing instruction or coaching for training activities at its sporting facilities or on council owned land, under its Community Local Law 2023. The trainer shows a current workplace level 2 first aid certificate, public liability and professional indemnity insurance and registration with a recognised peak body, and pays an application fee. It is a fair question to ask a trainer who proposes a session on a Doncaster oval.

Ruffey Lake Park

The council's landscape masterplan for Ruffey Lake Park sets out the park's design, development and management for the next 15 years across ten precincts, including a Steps Trail with 100 rock steps. Until the plan is built out, the park's hills already give a trainer all the resistance a session needs.

Training at home

Doncaster is a driving suburb with family-sized households, which is why so many people here ask for a trainer who comes to the house. A garage, a backyard or a quiet lounge room is enough. Tell us what you have and we will pass it on.

AimFit is a referral service and nothing more. One enquiry goes to one trainer who covers Doncaster. Send yours.

Doncaster questions

My parents speak little English. Can a trainer still help them?

Tell us the language in your enquiry and we will pass it on. The trainer will say whether they can work that way.

Is a permit needed for a session in my own backyard?

No. Manningham's permit covers council sporting facilities and council land, not private property.
